Radiography

Scientech offers Radiography using X-Rays, Gamma Rays (Both Iridium 192 and Cobalt 60) sources.

Radiography is conducted on castings and weldments. Radiography is conducted both for ferrous and non ferrous materials. Scientech is equipped with the required reference radiographs which are used to evaluate the results. Scientech also does the upgradation of castings based on client’s requirements as a value added services. Radiography is the use of ionizing radiations to view objects in a way that cannot be seen otherwise.

The main advantages of radiography are
1) Detection of internal discontinuities
2) Detection of significant variations in compositions and
3) Permanent record of test data.

The source of radiation can be either from X-Rays or Gamma Rays. The various Gamma Radiations include Iridium 192, Cobalt 60, among a few. There have been a lot of advancement in the field of Radiography. With advancement in technology, computed Radiography is catching up soon.
